4 x 6-ounce salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tablespoons butter, or olive oil, if preferred
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, crushed
Juice from half an orange (about 1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice)
Kosher salt and ground pepper, to taste
Half an orange, sliced, to serve
Directions
- Heat butter (or oil) in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon, skin side up, and sear for 3-4 minutes. Flip over and cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in orange juice and cook until reduces to half the quantity. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, for 30 seconds.
- Push salmon to a side of pan. Add in honey and soy sauce, stirring well to combine.
- Bring to a simmer until reduced to a nice syrup, for another 30 seconds to 1 minute. Push salmon back to center of pan. Move around in sauce to evenly coat. Once done, remove from heat and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Transfer to serving plates. Drizzle with sauce on top.
- Serve over a bed of rice, noodles, steamed vegetables or with a salad.
- Enjoy!
